dtYear#
Purpose#
Extracts the year component from a date/time variable as a decimal number with century included.
Format#
- year = dtYear(X[, column])#
- Parameters:
X (TxK dataframe) – Data with metadata.
column (Scalar or string) – Optional, name or index of the date variable in X to get years from. Default = first column.
- Returns:
year – The numeric year of the dates in the column specified by column.
Examples#
// Load data
fname = getGAUSSHome("examples/yellowstone.csv");
data = loadd(fname);
// Get years for date column
year = dtYear(data, "Date");
// Print first and last five dates
head(data[., "Date"]);
tail(data[., "Date"]);
// Print corresponding years
